Sonlight Church was planted in 1991 to give Sonlight staff, students, and their families a place of worship where teaching was consistent with Bible instruction at the Academy. The church has grown to include not only many students and their families, but also people in the community otherwise unaffiliated with the mission.

In 2012, SonCenter, a multipurpose building, was opened, and houses the Sonlight Church congregation, but also includes a gymnasium, offices, and classrooms. The church now has approximately 350 members and regular attenders at weekend services and multiple Sunday school classes each week. The church is led by Haitian pastor, Archimel Denis, who has been ministering at Sonlight for over twenty years.
